Yggdrasil |
The world tree said to support the nine worlds of Gladshiem
which include: Asgard, Ljossalfheim, Midgard, Svartalfheim, Hel, Jotheim, Muspelheim, Vanaheim, Nifelheim. Yggdrasil is both a metaphor and incarnation representing life and living things. If Aesirian lore, Odin allows himself to be spiked to Yggdrasil in order to gain knowledge. The great tree
of Yggdrasil does exist in a territory deep in the heart of
Gladshiem near the realm of Asgard. Magic gates built
within the hollows of this mammoth tree provide access to
the aforementioned realms above. Note: Hel & Nifelheim are
synonymous with the same general world (territory)--
essentially the high rent / low rent sections of the land
of lost souls administered by the dark goddess Hella.
Yggdrasil is also the name of the clan of oldest the most
powerful clan of pantheon lords to settle in Gladshiem.
Idun Yggdrasil is the only survivor of that clan. See also

Yggdrasil, Idun |
Pantheon lord of the Aesir, goddess of immortality. Idun is
one of the more powerful goddesses of the Aesir. In
mythology she tends the fruit which grant the Aesir
longevity. As a pantheon lord of the Ring Realms she is the
keeper of fruits which have restorative powers on pantheon
lords that also can temporarily imbue a mortal creature
with immort strength, resilience, and magick. Idun is the mother of Euriel Kergatha Idun-daughter, and in-law to her husband Vanidaar. She is the grandmother of Liandra Kergatha, and Azir Kergatha. In the realms stories, Idun is a pantheon progenitor and one of the most powerful pantheon lords in existence. She does not occupy a position of leadership among the dieties of her clan due to her blood. Clan Yggdrasil had long ruled tyrannically over the Aesir and Vanir, and brought much shame and misery on the (then) lesser dieties. Due to personal differences between herself and the clan leader (her elder brother) over their younger sister, Idun turned on the her blood clan and helped Odin to lead an insurrection that ended the Yggdrasil clan. Even though Idun had helped to free the Aesir, she was still reviled for the clan of her birth, and mistrusted due to her willingness to turn-coat against her own family. As a result Idun was forced to shelter under Odin's auspices to prevent conflict with the Aesir and Vanir. This arrangement was barely tolerable. It became worse when Odin insisted she marry his son Bragi to retain the protection of the clan-head. Eventually, Idun grew strong enough in her own right that she didn't need Odin's protections. She dumped Bragi and commited herself to self exile. She wandered for some millennia, pretending to be mortal and fighting for various armies and causes. She became romantically involved with Hiramasa Orenraki, a G'Yaki master of great renown. Unfortunately, the relationship ended swiftly due to a gissentenki rebellion in the clan. Hiramasa was forced to take his own life in order to retain honor. Idun eventually exposed the perpetrator but it did not bring back her lost love. Idun went on a decades long grief bender. Damaging the armies and the balance of power on several realm worlds. It was during this time that she ran across the itinerant teritaani mercenary Baelish. What was just slightly more than a drunken fling went sideways when Idun got pregnant. Caring for a demi-god child was far too much responsibility for the freebooter. However, the idea of leaving Idun was also a untenable. Baelish and Idun grew apart and he disappeared. Idun later learned that he had supposedly commited suicide. With the responsibility of her new daughter Euriel, Idun returned to Gladshiem and tried to live quietly on the edge of Aesir society. Euriel grew up among the Chosen valkyries that had come to respect Idun over the centuries. The two would clash as strong willed mothers and daughters will. As entertainment for herself and her daughter, Idun created the All-World's Tournament. It was during one of the many exhibitions that Euriel met Vanidaar Kergatha. They fell in love and became parents. Making Idun a grandmother. Later in the
realms stories, Idun meets Dae Silvarron and they get
engaged. The goddess is hoping for children.
